Lining is your friend when clothes shopping. You say some clothes became unwearable after washing, this shouldn’t happen, no matter how cheap they are. I’m guessing you’re using a washing machine, so you’re probably washing them on too harsh a setting, or with too harsh soap, or some such. You might want to look into what kind of washing different fabrics require/can take, and you might want to wash some of it by hand.
